Tani Belomytsina

June 6 - September 27, 2026

Tani Belomytsina is a multi-disciplinary artist and art therapy graduate student based in California, originally from Birobidzhan, Russia. Her creative path began with a love for visual storytelling and grew more deeply through her immigration experience, which shaped her understanding of art as a way to connect, reflect, and heal.

Working across mixed media, Tani creates murals, collages, altered books, and community art projects. Her work explores emotion, personal experience, and connection with the world around us. She believes art can help people express feelings, navigate life changes, and reconnect imagination, while creating spaces that encourage reflection, playfulness, and meaningful human connection.

Artists-in-Residence Program

At Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, we believe that the arts are a place where we are able to discover ourselves, explore the world around us, imagine brilliant futures, and connect with our communities. We believe that the arts are not a luxury, and instead, that art and creative expression are a key part of every child’s development and education. We strive to teach children that the arts and culture are not only something they can interact with, but something they can also help to create.
